Good product with some shortcomingsI had been looking to buy a 14 inch laptop, and this laptop came at a relatively cheap price with a very good configuation: Intel Core i5 8th generation processor, 256 GB SSD, Full HD 1920x1089 pixels (Note: While comparing, I saw some other good, cheaper laptops but with a poorer 1366x768 pixels display - It is easy to miss if one is not careful while checking specifications). I also got about 12% off on the list price on a weekend online sale, and so ordered it. I have been now using the laptop for a week, and my review based on this limited usage is as follows:
Pros: The laptop is very sleek and lighweight. After being used to my older heavier laptop, working with this one is a pleasure. I use it a lot while lying on the bed for browsing the net and sometimes lift it up (almost like a tablet) while reading online articles, and hardly ever get tired doing it. The boot up time and performance are pretty good due to the strong configuation. Keyboard is responsive, and the backlit keyboard is a good addition. Laptop comes with Windows 10 preinstalled. I use the laptop mainly for light browsing, so can't say anything about gaming.
Cons: The build is a little bit plastic-ky, especially the mousepad gives a weak feedback while tapping that reeks of plastic. For the pricepoint, the build could have been better. And for some reason, the WiFi (WLAN) signal is not being caught adequately. I have difficulty with the WiFi strength when I browse in my living room, but my Smart TV is running YouTube videos from the same WiFi signal. I am hoping it is a software issue that will go away after some updates. Otherwise I will try changing my modem for a stronger model, since it seems a pity to return this nice laptop for this reason. As of now, I just curse and move to my bedroom to browse. I will try to update the review on this topic after a couple of months.
In conclusion, I am overall still very happy with the buy and would recommend this to others too!
